Demolition Derby Rules

  1. Any car or station wagon is allowed, except jeep, trucks, vans, carryalls, limos, ambulance, hearses, 4x4 or convertibles.
     

  2. All cars MUST have front doors painted white with black numbers, your choice 1 to 100. NO PROFANITY anywhere on the car.
     

  3. All glass must be removed before reaching track and burnable material such as headliners, carpet, door panels and etc. No spare tires, broken glass or trash etc. allowed in cars. Vacuum the glass out if you have to.
     

  4. Any type automotive radiator may be used but must be mounted in stock position. Fan may be removed. Heater core may be bypassed.
     

  5. Battery may be moved, but if moved it  MUST be securely fastened and covered in passenger side floorboard.
     

  6. Stock gas tank MUST be removed from original position and mounted in rear area and secured by seat belts or added metal straps. NO CHAINS OR RUBBER STRAPS or round bottom tanks. A marine (boat) fuel tank, recommended. All tanks MUST have secure cap. All lines and fittings MUST be leak proof and meet approval from officials. No bigger than 8 gallon cell.
     

  7. Stock seat belt allowed with shoulder harness, 4 or 5 pt harnesses allowed with racing seat. Window net recommended.
     

  8. Roll cage recommended, with drivers door support. The roll cage cannot extend out of the drivers compartment. No part of the roll bar allowed to pass through the firewall.
     

  9. No special bumpers, trailer hitches, or any reinforcements except drivers door. No concrete allowed anywhere in the car.
     

  10. All frames must remain stock . Any driver caught with altered frame at check-in inspection will not be allowed to enter the car.
     

  11. Any engine or transmission may be used in any car, but MUST be mounted in a stock position. Transmission oil coolers permitted. Any type of transmission shifter allowed.
     

  12. Engine cooling system MUST be drained and flushed free of antifreeze. Air conditioner Freon R-12 must be properly evacuated from system. This work MUST be accomplished BEFORE arrival at race site.
     

  13. Chained, welded, or homemade motor mounts will be permitted.
     

  14. Any type of header is allowed, but MUST be directed away from driver compartment.
     

  15. Any automobile rear end (NO TRUCK OR FLOATER REAR ENDS) can be used in any car. This rule does not mean you can transform a coil spring to leaf spring. On models originally equipped with leaf springs stock leaf springs and hangers MUST be used. On models originally equipped with coil springs, stock springs and trailing arms MUST be used. No solid suspensions allowed. Limited slip & locked rear ends allowed. Any gear ratio.
     

  16. A. Only sixteen (16) inch or smaller tires and wheels will be allowed. NO SPLIT RIMS ALLOWED. B. NO paddle, pulling or cut tires. Tube or tubeless type D.O.T tires only. If the D.O.T. will not approve it, we will not either.
     

  17. DOORS: All doors must be chained shut or welded. If either driver's side door comes open during derby, car will be disqualified. Trunk: If welded, may weld 2" and leave 2" or may weld 4" and leave 4" or may be chained. No seam welds on trunk. Welded trunks must have a 12" by 12" hole for inspection.  Cutting fenders and bumpers for wheel clearance and/or restriction of steering is permissible.
     

  18. Hoods MUST have (2) holes, at least four (4) inches in diameter, on each side of carburetor. Hood required to compete. HOODS: CHAINS ONLY. NO WELDED HOODS!

     

  19. All cars must have a fire extinguisher (ABC type) within drivers reach.
     

  20. Anything not specified in rules must remain stock. Definition of stock = as produced by the manufacturer Ford, GM, Dodge etc.
